Smart Meters and Time of Use Billing Effective November 1, 2007 Newmarket Hydro began phasing in Time of Use Rates to all eligible customers within our service area. The transfer from the current "Consumption" Price Plan to "Time of Use Rates (TOU)" will continue throughout 2008.
Prior to the shift to TOU pricing each customer will receive an information package containing key information on your Smart Meter and Time of Use pricing. Time of Use (TOU) rates are established by the Ontario Energy Board, reviewed and adjusted if necessary every 6 months. Please refer to the Smart Meter menu on the left to review more information on Smart Meters and Time of Use rates.
